1.Does the monster’s eloquence and persuasiveness make it easier for the reader to sympathize with him? Most film versions of the story present the monster as mute or inarticulate; why do you think film makers may chose to portray him this way?
2.Victor attributes his tragic fate to his relentless search for knowledge. Do you think that this is the true cause of his suffering? In what ways does the novel present knowledge as dangerous and destructive?
3. How is Frankenstein a Gothic (Romantic) novel? Point out at least 2 tenets of Gothic Romanticism and where the reader can see these things within the novel (cite textual evidence).
