Retro Holy Card | St. Gianna Molla Wallet (Credit Card Size)
$3.00
Often our modern world relegates motherhood as a "less-than" vocation...yet St. Gianna showed us how heroic motherhood can be and how truly revered it should be! Now you can carry (or frame) a reminder of this woman whose example of selflessness sets a shining example for parents everywhere! Designed in the style of classic baseball cards, these “heavy cards” from Spirit Juice are crafted from artisan-grade 32pt (380lb) cardstock and are designed to take a beating, endure some wear, and survive the little hands of our saints in training (our children, of course)! What can I say? We’re passionate about paper...and quality...and evangelization! Our small and medium prints don't just look good, they feel good...exuding a tangible quality and long-lasting reminder of St. Gianna's legacy. The small size is exactly credit card-sized, meaning it will easily fit in a wallet or as a bookmark in your Bible, hymnal, Liturgy of the Hours, or missal. The medium size is perfect for framing, but they'll also sit nicely on a desk or keep your page in your favorite book all while maintaining their structural rigidity and standing up to recurring use and daily life (unlike lesser-quality paper stocks). On the back of these small and medium prints, we include a beautifully designed reminder of the saint's life; their birth and death, notable information, and a reminder of why we look to them as examples of holiness and Godliness. Stickers are permanent vinyl stickers that are dishwasher safe and designed to withstand some abuse! This design is part of our "20th Century Visionaries" collection. St. Gianna Molla Born: October 4th, 1922 | Died: April 28th, 1962 Bio: Saint Gianna practiced heroic love in her vocation of marriage. She studied hard, and served the elderly and needy as a member of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society. After earning her degrees in medicine and surgery, she opened a medical clinic, specializing in pediatrics. After some reflection, Gianna chose the vocation of marriage. She married Pietro Molla, and balanced with success the demands of wife, mother, and doctor. She gave birth to two children. But when she became pregnant with the third, she developed a fibroma in her uterus. She told the doctors "If you must decide between me and the child, do not hesitate: choose the child—I insist on it. Save the baby." They were able to save the child, but Gianna died in great pain. Her legacy of self-sacrifice has endured, inspiring countless others to take up their daily crosses for their families.

There are 1.1 billion Catholics in the world, even though there are so many of us, our religion remains a little mysterious and often misunderstood to the rest of the world. Here are 10 Things You Might Not Know about Catholics. Number 1 Nobody likes to brag about their age but the Catholic Church has a pretty impressive legacy, with a birthday of roughly 33 BC, it’s over 2,000 years old, making it the oldest institution in the entire Western World. Number 2 In 1973 the spine tingling film The Exorcist came out. And if you’ve ever comforted yourself by saying ‘it’s all just a bunch of baloney’ think again. The film had 3 Jesuit priests as credited technical advisors. Even creepier: director, William Friedkin (freed-kin), asked one of them to come exorcise the set after a number of mysterious disasters occurred. Number 3 Catholic hospitals employ almost 750,000 people in the United States alone. 1 in 6 U.S. patients are cared for in a Catholic hospital and 527,000 babies were born in a Catholic hospital last year. Number 4 Vatican city is the world’s smallest country, measuring in at just over 100 acres, that’s 1/8th the size of New York’s Central Park. The country mints its own euros, has its own flag and even its own national anthem! Number 5 Most people know that St. John Paull the second was a big outdoors guy. But did you know he snuck out of the Vatican more than 100 times to go skiing in the Italian Alps? Number 6 In the 1920s, the world’s mind was blown by the theory of an expanding universe - otherwise known as the Big Bang Theory. This hypothesis was developed by a Catholic priest, Monsignor Georges Lemaitre. Number 7 The country of Brazil has a lot to brag on: Carnaval, The Amazon, and more Catholics than Italy, France, and Poland combined. Number 8 Though he was sneaky, Pope John Paul the second was also one of the most visible Popes in history. he traveled to 129 countries, logging more than 750,000 frequent flyer miles, which is about three times the distance to the moon. Number 9 Every country depends on exports for part of its economy, including that tiny country of the Vatican City. Their largest export? Postage stamps! Number 10 Catholics love patron saints. You got the classics, St. Patrick, patron of Ireland. St. Anthony - Patron of lost things. But how about some seriously helpful patrons: like St. Arnold the patron saint of Beer Saint Drogo, Patron Saint of Unattractive People or St. Bibiana, the patron St. of hangovers.
