9 March - 15 March
Digital Day Assignment, March 13: Look at the worksheet for Act V and fill it out, organizing the Act. Please put your answers on a separate Google Doc or in the text box for the assignment.
16 March - 22 March
Monday: No school - campus open 8-10
Tuesday: Study for your Romeo and Juliet Assessment. It will open at noon and close at 3. Please set aside 40 minutes to complete this exam. If you do not complete this assessment in the time allotted, it will be marked a zero.
For your Romeo and Juliet packets that you were working on prior to the shutdown, you will have until Friday to submit either scans or pictures of your work.
Wednesday: Please read the PowerPoint for the lecture on Greek Mythology. You will need to outline these notes and turn them in on Friday by 5 pm
Friday: Begin reading "Perseus" in your literature books. you will need to log in on Monday during 12-3 to join the class discussion on the book.
23 March - 29 March
Monday: You must participate in the discussion during our period (12-3). You need to make sure you are following all directions. Since this is like a class discussion and participation, it will be worth points for foundational work as well as be used for attendance.
During class on Monday, download the Perseus Research page. Choose one of the Gods or Goddesses from your notes on Mythology to start researching ... yes, an essay is coming!
Tuesday-Friday: Complete the Perseus Discussion Questions and turn them in by Friday before 5 pm.
Study for your Perseus reading quiz on Monday 3/30 during our class period.
This is the assignment. Turn it in under the portal God/goddess research due 3/30 under next week.
30 March - 5 April
Monday: You need to take your quiz for Perseus. Once it opens, you will have 5 minutes to complete this quiz. It will close after that 5 minutes. It is a multiple choice quiz. You must take it between 1-2. You also need to turn in your research notes from last week.
Monday- Friday: You will then need to go over the notes (this is a recorded lecture) and the assignment for the essay that goes along with the research that you have completed. Your outline for the essay is due Friday, 4/3.
This is the pre-writing for your essay. Submit it here before Friday 4/3
6 April - 12 April
Today, we will be having a meeting at 1 to talk about our essays. You will first turn in your essay in the link below and then you will join No Red Ink, and then join the meeting. No red Ink will allow you to anonymously peer edit each others papers. See you soon!

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a great spring break. We are going to continue working on our essays this week that we started before the break.
Monday: you must enter the class discussion board and post. This is for attendance. Then go to No Red Ink and upload your body paragraphs and do a peer edit of at least 3 other classmates. This must be done in our class period and is due by 3 pm.
Tuesday-Friday: work on your essay and take the reviews from your peers in No Red Ink to make changes to your paper. You will need to go back into No Red Ink to complete your self evaluation before 3 pm on Friday. Then turn in your final essay by Friday, April 24, 2020 by 5 p.m. You will turn this in to the same portal that you turned in your rough drafts. This will be part 2 of that assignment.
27 April - 3 May
Monday: Today, we will begin working in "The Odyssey," which is an epic poem written by Homer. These readings will help us begin to transition from mythology to poetry. Today, as part of your class meeting, you will need to read the first two short stories from "The Odyssey" and answer discussion questions. You will find the story in the your Pearson book on page 756. Read from 756-761 and then answer the questions under Sailing From Troy/Lotus Eaters Assignment before 3 p.m. TODAY. If you cannot access your online textbook for whatever reason, please use the PDF below and read the first two stories (read Far From Home (which in our text is called Sailing from Troy and The Lotus Eaters), and then answer the questions.
Tuesday - Friday: You will need to read the story "The Cyclops" in the "The Odyssey" and answer the questions labeled Cyclops assignment. This will be due Friday by 3 p.m.
Next week: On Monday, during our class period, you will take a quiz on the first 3 stories that we have read, so please study.
Completion of this assignment is due Monday, April 27, 2020 before 3 pm. Make sure you complete all pages
These questions are due Friday, May 1 by 3 pm. Complete these after reading The Cyclops in The Odyssey.
4 May - 10 May
Hi guys! Can you believe we are just a month away from finals?! Today, you guys will need to take your quiz between 1-2 pm. It will take you about 25 minutes to complete. Remember to watch your time. You will not be given extensions. There is a short answer on this quiz. You will need to respond in a minimum of a paragraph. Once you have completed your quiz, you can get a jump on your reading for the week. This week, you will need to read the stories "The Land of the Dead" and "The Sirens" beginning on page 776 in Pearsons. You will have discussion questions due by 5 pm on Friday. Please make sure you answer all the questions in complete, full sentences.
You need to take this quiz on Monday, May 4, between 1-2 pm. This will be used for your attendance.

Hi Guys! i hope you all spoiled your moms this last weekend. We have a little easier week ahead. Today, you will need to read 2 stories: Scylla and Charybdis and Cattle of the Sun God. You will need to read the stories and then you will need to answer the discussion questions by 3 pm today. The submission of your work will be for attendance as well as for foundational credit. For the remainder of the week, you will need to study for your test on Monday. You will take a test on all of the readings we have done in "The Odyssey". Next week, we will begin our last unit on poetry and then start prepping for finals. I hope you are all well. Please email me if you have any questions or send me a message through Remind.
Late work is still being accepted so if you are missing something, get it in!

Hi Guys!
Welcome to the homestretch. I know it has been a tough year, and I thank you for hanging in there. Today, you will take your Odyssey test. Please set aside 25 minutes to complete the test. Then you will need to download your poetry terms handout, study this, you will have a quiz on them next week. You will then need to get the assignment for sound devices. This worksheet is due on Friday by 3 pm. Please also download your poetry project assignment and the list of poems you are responsible for on the final as well as the one you can use on your projects. We will have a meeting next week after your quiz, so please plan to set aside some time for a meeting. Thanks everyone for your hard work, end the semester strong!
